James's flagship magic show. A theatrical hour of stage mentalism and visual magic, built for up to 50 guests.
This is not a standard magic show. It is a theatrical experience built for the most discerning audiences in Dubai.
Most event magic happens around the edges of a night. The Platinum Show is the night. James takes a stage for 30 to 45 minutes of continuous performance, combining bold visual magic with the mind reading he is known for, in a single arc that builds rather than repeats. With a maximum of 50 guests there are no back rows, so every person in the room either takes part or watches from arm's length. It is the only format where both of his disciplines appear in one show.
Hosts who want the evening remembered for one thing, and want that thing under their control.
Every detail is built for your event, not adapted from someone else's.
The format needs a focused room rather than a big one, which opens up venues a large gala act cannot use.
The Platinum Show has been built for private dining rooms, hotel ballrooms set for a single long table, penthouses, villas and palace events across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It needs a clear performance area of roughly three metres by two, a microphone, and lighting that puts the audience in view rather than in darkness. It does not need a raised stage, a backdrop, or a technical rehearsal, which is why it can follow a dinner service without a room turn. If your venue has an in-house AV team, James will send them a single page before the day. If it does not, he will bring what the show needs.
Standard event entertainment fills time. This is built to be the thing people photograph.
A band gives you atmosphere and a comedian needs a shared sense of humour, which is a gamble in a room of eleven nationalities. A large gala magic show plays to a crowd, so the back half of the room watches a screen. The Platinum Show is the opposite trade. It gives up scale to buy intensity, so the guest at the far table is close enough to hand over their own watch. That is what makes it hold a room of senior people who have seen everything, and it is why this format goes to the events where the host cannot afford a flat evening.
The strongest moment of the night can carry your message instead of just entertaining.
James regularly builds brand work into the Platinum Show for corporate hosts. A prediction sealed on stage at the start of the evening turns out to be your new product name. A freely chosen word matches the line on your campaign. A guest's own thought is revealed and it is the number your team has been chasing all year. Coca-Cola, Bentley, Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce and illy have all booked James, and the brand work is agreed on the consultation call rather than improvised on the night. It never feels like an advert, because the reveal has to land as magic first or it lands as nothing.
More lead time than a standard booking, because the show is built rather than repeated.
James takes a limited number of Platinum Shows each month. Arrange a call, tell him the date, the venue and roughly who is in the room, and he will put together a show concept for your event with no obligation. Peak season in Dubai runs October to March and weekends go first, so a few months of notice is safest for a gala and four to six weeks is usually enough for a private dinner. He will hold the date while you decide.
A booking nobody has seen is a risk, so here is what removes it.
James is a member of the Magic Circle, the London society founded in 1905 where members are admitted by examination rather than subscription. He has performed for eight years across nine countries and for private royal family events. FTI Consulting have used him for their top tier corporate events for half a decade, and their head of marketing for the Middle East and Africa has said so on the record. He has appeared on the Lovin Dubai Show and in Madrid Metropolitan. If you are choosing between performers you cannot audition, that history is the closest thing to a guarantee.
